A crucial difference.

Two of my favourite people on iland are

Sheila Das  -  sheila.rediffiland.com/

and

Friendly Ghost -  backfoot.rediffiland.com/

Not in any specific order.

I have a soft corner for those who point out the ironies of life and ridicule the follies of the silly creature called Human Being.

.....And those who laugh at themselves...

Those with a spiritual look at life earn more brownie points from me, not that those points matters much…. But each of us has a value system and certain preferences for making friends. That’s another human folly.

A visit to the two ilands mentioned above – and one is guaranteed to come out with a feeling of having gained something …. They provoke readers into “thinking”.

FG more so…. Through his sarcastic posts.

The following is an example of their interaction – FG responding to a post by Sheila.

Two Zen monks are sitting down for an hour's meditation, think of lighting a beedi

So they go to their master to ask for permission.

As per the practice, they go to the master one after the other.

The first is denied permission; the second is granted it.

Why?

Because the first asks his master: ''Am I allowed to smoke while I meditate?''

And the second monk asks, ''Am I allowed to meditate while smoking?''

A crucial difference.
